Reid (Washington, D.C.) and the nine-year-old KWPN mare Athena, owned by Chloe D. Reid LLC’s, entered the final phase of competition standing on three faults and remained on that score after jumping faultlessly over Michel Vaillancourt’s course.

“It was amazing,” said Reid of her victory and gave all credit to her partner of one year. “Honestly, this weekend was all her; she was amazing.”

For the second time in less than 24 hours Deslauriers (New York, N.Y.) found herself jumping-off for a Silver medal. On Friday night, she and Lisa Deslauriers nine-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Hester produced a steady clear to earn Silver for her Zone 2 team, and on Saturday the pair reproduced the feat to again take the second spot on the podium.

“It’s really incredible to work all year to qualify and to be second is amazing,” said Deslauriers following the medal ceremony.

Colvin (Loxahatchee, Fla.) stood tied with Deslauriers at the end of four rounds on a score of four faults and piloted Karen Long Dwight’s 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Don Juan to a quick four fault round in the jump-off to finish in third place. Colvin now leaves the 2014 Randolph College/USEF National Junior Jumper Championship with Team Gold (Zone 4), Individual Bronze and the William C. Steinkraus Style Award.
