USEF Announces Inaugural USEF U25 Show Jumping National Championship

The United States Equestrian Federation is pleased to announce the inaugural Sleepy P Ranch & Deeridge Farm $100,000 USEF U25 Show Jumping National Championship presented by the Porter Family & the Jacobs Family will take place at the National Horse Show in Lexington, Ky., October 27-November 1, 2015.

Open to athletes from the age of 16 up to and including 25-years-of-age in the calendar year, this individual championship will be based on the FEI World Cup format with fence heights up to 1.50m. Three competitions will determine the National Champion: a $15,000 faults converted class, a $20,000 time first jump off class, and a $30,000 final with two rounds not against the clock. An additional $35,000 will be awarded to the top ten combinations overall.

“This new USEF U25 Show Jumping National Championship and the support for this relevant division in the Developing Rider Program by the National Horse Show makes the bridge between the Young Rider and the senior ranks seamless,” said DiAnn Langer, USEF Show Jumping Development Coach/Chef d’Equipe. “The National Horse Show’s commitment to future generations of high performance athletes is invaluable to our future success.”

A total of 30 athletes, with one horse per athlete, will qualify, with qualification is based on the athlete, not the athlete/horse combination. Athletes will qualify based on the following system: 20 U.S. athletes from the USEF U25 Rider Ranking List, two Canadian athletes, two Mexican athletes, and six wildcards.
