March 29, 2006 -- The 2006 Varsity Equestrian National Championship will take on a bracket-style format to allow colleges to directly compete against one another.

Ashado Scholarship to Benefit Female Equine Studies Student
Dec. 7, 2005 -- The four-year Ashado scholarship, administered by The Race for Education, will benefit a female college student studying an equine-related subject.

Virginia Intermont, Findlay Win IHSA Championships
May 18, 2005 -- Virginia Intermont College and the University of Findlay won IHSA national championship titles in hunt seat and western, respectively. Ashley Woodhouse and Jacob Bowman were the top riders in their divisions.

South Carolina Wins Varsity Equestrian Title
April 25, 2005 -- The University of South Carolina equestrian team won the Varsity Equestrian Championship in Santa Fe, N.M., on April 16. Two-time defending champion Georgia finished second.

NCAA Varsity Equestrian Website Launched
April 13, 2005 -- The United States Equestrian Federation and the American Quarter Horse Association have launched a new, official website for college and university varsity equestrian teams.

First Natural Horsemanship 4-Year Degree Offered
March 23, 2005 -- The University of Montana-Western will offer a bachelor of science in natural horsemanship program beginning this fall. The four-year degree is the first of its kind in the United States.
