What would you call a week of trail riding, instruction from renowned trainer Julie Goodnight, evening parties and entertainment, fabulous food, and a lot of good ol' R&R--all set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains? How about a horse lover's dream come true!
That's exactly what Reneé Twombly of Auburn, Ala., (pictured above on the trip) and her sister Krista Wilbanks experienced at Leatherwood Mountiains in Ferguson, N.C., courtesy of Horse & Rider's 2009 Wrangler® Ultimate Ride Sweepstakes. Their riding adventures included treks through the Blue Ridge equestrian resort's 4,000 wooded acres, plus participation in clinics with Team Horse & Rider's Julie Goodnight. The sisters' experience will be featured this spring on a special episode of the weekly TV series "Best of America by Horseback" with host Tom Seay on RFD-TV.
