Dressage Today, Equine Insider Win AIM Gold

Two of PRIMEDIA Equine Network's publications took gold in the 2007 Western-English Trade Association's All-Industry Marketing Awards.

July 10, 2007 — PRIMEDIA Equine Network’s Dressage Today magazine walked away with gold at this year’s Western-English Trade Association’s All-Industry Marketing (AIM) awards ceremony May 19 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The AIM awards honor excellence in marketing and publishing work in the equine and western lifestyle industry.

Tami Hoag’s award-winning article, “Successful Novelist Tami Hoag Trains in Spain,” appeared in the May 2006 issue of Dressage Today. It received gold in the news or feature articles category.

The article chronicles the New York Times bestselling crime novelist’s dressage-inspired vacation to Spain with two of her close friends. While overseas, they underwent extensive instruction and training with three-time Olympian Juan Matute and were introduced to the beautiful villas and riding trails of the country.

“I was excited that we had such a good article that was so well-written be recognized,” Dressage Today Editor Patty Lasko said. “We were glad to get someone of her caliber to write for us.”

Lasko stressed how Hoag was able to effectively stray from the gritty crime genre that she is known for and incorporate her wit and dry sense of humor into the article, making it “not only a fun read, but informative for anyone who wants to travel to Spain.”

PRIMEDIA Equine Network’s Equine Insider also was recognized with a gold medal in the electronic newsletter category. The newsletter, which circulates among PRIMEDIA advertisers, covers recent industry news and events, provides tips on marketing and highlights upcoming articles that will be featured in PRIMEDIA’s equine publications.

“We’re honored to have our publications recognized at this year’s AIM awards,” said Susan Harding, vice president and group publishing director of PRIMEDIA Equine Network. “We always strive to create high-quality and meaningful content throughout our diverse publication portfolio.”

PRIMEDIA Equine Network produces the websites EquiSearch.com and Equine.com and publishes EQUUS, Practical Horseman, Horse & Rider, Dressage Today, Arabian Horse World, Everything For Horse & Rider and Discover Horses at the Kentucky Horse Park.
