Custom Crome is an NRHA $2 Million Sire

Steve Simon's Custom Crome is now among the very short list of stallions whose offspring have earned in excess of $2 million at NRHA-approved shows andevents.

June 14, 2009 — Steve Simon’s Custom Crome is now among the very short list of National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Two Million Dollar Sires. The sire’s offspring’s official show earnings now total $2,001,691 putting him among the likes of Hollywood Dun It, Smart Chic Olena, Shining Spark, Topsail Whiz and Gallo Del Cielo–all sires of offspring earning in excess of $2 million at NRHA-approved shows and events.

Custom Crome, a 1990 American Quarter Horse stallion, is owned by Steve Simon of Marietta, Okla., where the stallion currently stands. Custom Crome (Crome Plated Jac x Another Greyhound) is an NRHA Hall of Famer who earned nearly $110,000 in the show ring. His successes included winning the 1993 NRHA Futurity Open Division with Mike Flarida, another Hall of Famer, aboard.

Custom Crome’s offspring have made their mark in the NRHA arena and include many champions such as: Custom Pistol (2001 NRHA Reserve Open Futurity Champion, 2002 NRHA Open Derby Champion and 2002 NRBC Reserve Open Champion); Custom Legend (2007 NRBC Open Champion, 2005 & 2006 NRBC Reserve Open Derby Champion, 2006 Cactus Classic Open Derby Champion); Custom Mahogany (2002 NRHA Reserve Open Futurity Champion, 2005 NRHA Open Derby finalist and multiple NRBC Open Finalist); Custom Red Berry (2001 NRHA Open Derby Champion, 2001 NRBC Finalist and 3rd in the 1999 NRHA Open Futurity) and Cromed Out Mercedes (2009 NRBC Open Champion and 2008 NRHA Open Futurity finalist).
