EQUUS, Dressage Today Are Co-Winners

December 20, 2002 — Two Primedia Equine Network publications, EQUUS and Dressage Today, were selected as co-winners in the Equestrian Print Media Publication category of the 2002 USA Equestrian Media Awards.

“All of us at Primedia are very proud of these magazines and the hard work and dedication of the staffs,” said Susan Harding, VP, Group Publishing Director of Primedia Equine Network, publisher also of Horse & Rider, Practical Horseman, Arabian Horse World, Discover Horses, and EquiSearch.com.

EQUUS magazine, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is a comprehensive resource for all aspects of horse care, covering anatomy, behavior, equine veterinary advances, practical ‘how-to’ tips and analysis of horse-related news. Editor and associate publisher for EQUUS is Laurie Prinz; medical editor is Matthew Mackay-Smith, DVM.

Dressage Today, first published in 1994, addresses the needs of dressage riders of all levels, providing articles on training, show strategies, sporthorse breeding trends, and health care for dressage horses.

“We’re thrilled about winning this award,” said Sandy Oliynyk, editor since 1999. “We’re especially indebted to the many dressage experts–trainers, riders, judges–who have shared their knowledge and time with us to make this possible.”

Both publications have won this award previously.

The 2002 honorees represent a full spectrum of media outlets, including print and broadcast journalism. Established in 1993 as part of the “Making Strides for Equestrian Sports” marketing campaign, the USA Equestrian Media Awards are designed to acknowledge and encourage outstanding efforts by the media to promote understanding and appreciation of equestrian sports in the United States.
