Equine.com's A Home for Every Horse Honored at Advanced Screening of Steven Spielberg's "War Horse"

Equine.com's A Home for Every Horse was a beneficiary of an advance screening of "War Horse."

A Home For Every Horse, an innovative program from Equine.com, was a beneficiary of a private advance screening of DreamWorks Pictures’ highly anticipated movie “War Horse,” directed by Steven Spielberg. The Maryland Jockey Club, the American Horse Council and Active Interest Media’s Equine Network hosted the event December 15 at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.

A Home for Every Horse is the result of a partnership between the Equine Network, the nation’s leading publisher of equine-related content, and the American Horse Council’s Unwanted Horse Coalition. The program helps connect rescue horses in need of homes with people looking for horses. To make the connection between horses and homes, rescue organizations can list their horses for free on Equine.com, the world’s largest horse marketplace, where they can be seen by 300,000 visitors each month.

“We were so honored that A Home for Every Horse was a part of this special event,” said Dave Andrick, group publisher for the Equine Network. “The movie highlights the unique relationship between equines and humans, and that’s something A Home for Every Horse wants every horse to find.”

Attendance was high at the private screening of “War Horse,” with horse lovers turning out to see the Golden-Globe-nominated film and to support the worthwhile organizations benefiting from the event. In addition to A Home for Every Horse, the “War Horse” screening also honored Wounded Warriors and the Maryland Fund for Horses. In attendance were members of the United States Congress, representatives of the United States Department of Agriculture and many active and veteran serviceman and women representing all branches of the United State Military.
