UPDATE (6/10/11) Oregon Dept. of Agriculture now clear horse owners in Oregon and most of the Pacific Northwest free to haul to any and all horse shows and events in the area, the department believes the virus to be contained but still advise limiting the sharing of feed or water buckets as well as bits. UPDATE (5/19/11) from the Wyoming Livestock Board on new interstate travel requirements. "Due to concern over the recent Equine Herpes Virus 1 neurologic situation in several western states, the Wyoming Livestock Board will immediately begin requiring an official certificate of veterinary inspection within 72 hours of entry into Wyoming for imported Equine. The certificate must include the temperature recorded for each horse listed."

UPDATE (5/17/11) from the Colorado State Department of Agriculture New Travel Requirements for Horses Entering Colorado: Standard requirements for horses entering Colorado include a health issued certificate within 30 days of their arrival and a negative Coggins test within 12 months. The new requirement consists of a permit to enter the state. Horse owners who wish to bring their horse into Colorado must first call their veterinarian. That veterinarian can then contact the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s State Veterinarian’s Office at (303) 239-4161 and request a permit number. That number would then be included on the health certificate.
