As Jim discusses the highlights of the course, you’ll gain insight into how Rolex’s new course designer, Derek di Grazia, will test the horses and riders at each obstacle, and why. Find out the best way to approach and leave each obstacle and what the riders must consider at each question. Discover how the materials and build of each jump are important, and learn what they look like from the horses’ perspective.

To participate in this informative?and entertaining?event, meet Jim at Fence #5 (Note: This is different than in previous years) 30 minutes after the final dressage ride on April 29. Plan to spend at least two hours on course. Wear comfortable, waterproof footwear, and come prepared for the weather conditions with an umbrella, jacket, sunscreen, bug spray, water and, if you wish, a portable chair or blanket to sit on. Just prior to the course walk, join Jim and Practical Horseman for fun and prizes in a Rolex trivia contest.

Jim also will be signing copies of his new book Cross Country with Jim Wofford, based on his magazine columns, at the Practical Horseman booth in Sponsor Village during the event. Check in at the booth or visit www.facebook.com/practicalhorseman for more information on days and times.
