EQUUS Magazine Sponsors Karen and David O'Connor

EQUUS magazine will sponsor Olympic event riders, Karen and David O'Connor for two years. As part of the agreement, the O'Connors will contribute articles to EQUUS and serve as guest experts on EquiSearch.com.

July 30, 2005 — EQUUS magazine recently announced a two-year sponsorship agreement with renowned Olympic event riders, Karen and David O’Connor.

“A partnership with the O’Connors is a natural fit for EQUUS,” said Laurie Prinz, editor and associate publisher of EQUUS magazine, published by PRIMEDIA. “Both Karen and David O’Connor exemplify a level of all-around horsemanship that our readers can appreciate and aspire to.”

The O’Connors will be regular article contributors to EQUUS magazine. They will also serve as guest experts for the new “Ask the Experts” section that debuts on EquiSearch.com in September. All students who enroll in O’Connor Eventing Camps will receive complimentary EQUUS subscriptions.

The O’Connors’ international success has earned them the position of being leaders in American eventing. David O’Connor clinched the individual gold and team bronze medals for the United States at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Other major victories and awards include three Olympic medals, two World Championships, two Pan-American Games medals, three Rolex Kentucky three-day event wins, five
victories at the Fair Hill International CCI***, and a Badminton CCI**** victory. Continuing his commitment to the sport, David O’Connor serves as president of the U.S. Equestrian Federation, the national governing body of equestrian sports.

Karen O’Connor was a member of the bronze medal winning Olympic team at Sydney and has won many of the top competitions in her sport, including the 2000 Rolex Kentucky CCI**** and the 2003 Fair Hill CCI***. Her success and talent has captured the attention of the equestrian community and earned her the “Female Equestrian Athlete of the Year” honor nine times.

The O’Connors’ equestrian experiences and journey to success is told in their book Life in the Galloping Lane, published by PRIMEDIA Equine Network. Based in The Plains, Va., the O’Connors are leading a strong
