Max Corcoran: Getting to Greenwich

July 24, 2012–Greetings again!

It’s 7:00 a.m. here, and we’ve been up since 3:30 a.m. to get the equipment loaded by 5 a.m. Then, we jogged the horses for the vets, Brendan Furlong and PJ McMann, Mark and Julie Richards at 6:00 a.m. Now, we’re waiting for the horses to leave at 9:00 a.m. to head to the “staging area” to have all the horses checked to reload them to finally get to Greenwich!

It’s all a very exciting time, but we’ve all become a bit of a family during the last month and we have to leave some of the family home. Ever cheering and ever helpful Nat VC, groom for Will Faudree, helped everyone pack and Sally Robertson, groom for Clark Montgomery, has been running errands making sure that we were fed, horses had ice, we had water and the houses that we’d lived in were clean.

It’s all happening! The horses are on amazing form, so here is hoping that we can get it all done and do the country proud!

Max Corcoran is the head groom for Karen O’Connor, who will represent the U.S. in eventing at the 2012 Olympic Games on Mr. Medicott.
