Updated Schedule for the 2012 European Young Rider and Junior Rider Tour
Equestrian Federation (USEF) has updated the competition schedule for the 2012 Show Jumping European Young Rider Tour. Additionally, up to two individual Junior Riders will contest the same competitions on the Junior Rider Tour. 2012 USEF Paralympic Selection Trials, National Championship Set
Headquarters in Gladstone, N.J. Elite competition will April 11, 2012 -- The 2012 USEF Paralympic Selection Trials and National Championship will take place June 11-13, 2012 at the USET Foundation Headquarters in Gladstone, N.J. Elite competition will be held in Grades 1a- IV, as para-equestrian athletes vie to represent the United States at the 2012 Paralympic Games and earn National Championship honors. Competitors will ride three different tests (Team, Individual and Freestyle) within their grade. This championship will take place between the two weekends of the USEF Dressage Festival of Champions. The U.S. Para-Equestrian Team is enjoying a banner year in 2012 having earned qualification for the 2012 Paralympic Games in January. Top Juniors Ready for 2013 US Junior Hunter National Championships
will be crowned for both coasts. The festivities kick off with the US Junior Hunter National Championships - West held at Showpark Facility in Del Mar, Calif., July 22-23. Riders will compete over courses designed by Skip Bailey in front of judges William Ellis (Ocala, Fla.), Irving Evans (Fremont, N.H.), and Walter Timmy Kees (Nowalk, Conn.). The competition then moves east to HITS on the Hudson in Saugerties, N.Y., July 29-31. Jeff Ayers (Sellersville, Pa.), Scott Fitton (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.), and Hap Hansen (Encinitas, Calif.) will judge the east coast's riders throughout the competition, with courses designed by Rian Beals (Saugerties, N.Y.). The 2013 USHJA/Essex Classics Hunterdon Equitation Cup Classic will also be held during the US Junior National Hunter Championships - East. USEF Announces 2010 My Favorite USEF Breed Competition Contest

Eleven competitions will be recognized (one per breed category), receiving a plaque as well as a mention in the USEF's Week in Review e-newsletter. From these competitions, two will be selected from a random drawing to win the Grand and Reserve prizes. The Grand Prize winner will receive a pizza party for their exhibitors at the 2011 competition; the Reserve winner will receive an ice cream party for the exhibitors at the 2011 competition. In order to be eligible to claim their prize, the competitions must remain USEF-licensed for 2011. All USEF members in good standing who have participated in a USEF-licensed breed competition are encouraged to vote and share their feedback with the USEF. U.S. Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe George Morris to Undergo Treatment for Cancer
Morris has asked Robert Ridland (who was recently named the Morris' successor beginning in 2013: http://www.usefnetwork.com/news/8096/2012/2/21/robert_ridland_approved_for_us_sh.aspx) to attend the Observation Events and monitor the technical aspects of those competitions and report to Morris. Morris is expected to be fit and able to return to the horse show circuit by early summer and is expected to be able to travel in time to prepare the team in Europe for the Olympic Games and attend that Championship. The USEF and the entire horse show community wishes Morris a full recovery. Vitalis and Jorst Complete Final Test at 2013 FEI World Breeding Championships for Dressage Young Horses

Charlotte held her composure and improved her canter score from the first day, but unfortunately the excitement caused some tension in the flying changes," said USEF Young Horse Dressage Coach Scott Hassler. "Overall, Charlotte and Vitalis represented us very well and generated a lot of positive talk here among trainers, riders, and officials. They are definitely a pair expected to return to the international scene! Charlotte and her trainer, Volker Brommann were a total pleasure with; it was great team work."
