The Bit Gallery – Loose-Ring Snaffle

The Loose Ring snaffle is a bit in which the mouthpiece attaches to free sliding rings.
If the horse tries to "take a hold" of the bit, it will rotate on the rings, making it difficult for the horse to grab the bit and evade the rider.

Sometimes the lips can get pinched where the mouthpiece meets the rings and if that happens, you may wish to choose either an Eggbutt or D-Ring snaffle instead.
