Horse Trailer Hitch Help

Description: The dish-shaped Wheel Dock is designed to keep your horse trailer's dolly wheel from sinking out of sight when you unhitch your trailer at a trailhead or campsite. It's made from bright-yellow, high-impact plastic.

The test: The Trail Rider Consulting Editor Bonnie Davis used to park her dolly wheel atop a wood block, brick, rock, or large piece of dirt to keep it above ground. However, such items weren't always around when she needed them, and rain washed away dirt chunks. Then she discovered the Wheel Dock, which she's used for more than a year in all types of terrain. She found that the Wheel Dock kept the dolly wheel from sinking, even in soft ground.

User comments: "The Wheel Dock's unique web-shaped underside keeps it from sinking into sand, dirt, and mud," says Davis. "Simply crank your trailer's dolly wheel into the center of Wheel Dock, and unhitch. After use, the dock's rope handle and light weight makes it easy to pick up."

Cost: $17.99.
