More Ticks in 2014

The horrible winter so many of us went through was actually great – if you were a tick, that is. Turns out that the lasting snow cover provided insulation to the ticks. We’re being warned about a bumper crop of ticks for 2014 – and earlier than ever. Many subscribers have reported already finding ticks on their horses, dogs and themselves.

Remember, Lyme disease is a big problem in horses, and it’s transmitted by deer ticks.
