A Horse, a Horse, my Kingdom for a Horse! WEG Eventing Without Zara?

It looks like reigning Eventing World Champion Zara Phillips of Great Britain will not be among the names you’ll see on Team Great Britain as their list shortens toward their final selection. Organizers hoped that the talented young champion from the 2006 Games?who happens to be grand-daughter of the Queen and daughter of Princess Anne and American coach Mark Phillips?would be riding in Lexington, since she attracts a media frenzy wherever and whenever she rides.

Zara pulled out of the 2008 Olympics when her wonderful partner Toytown was unsound, and she hasn?t had a strong four-star finisher this spring, so it is highly unlikely she’ll be riding for the home team. But you never know?

Meanwhile, though, Zara continues to support the sport and her team, and proves herself to be a good sport, as in this sponsor television ad for British eventing?s stalwart supporter, Land Rover. Zara has designed a line of clothing for sailing and equestrian specialists Musto, and with luck with have more than enough reasons to make the trip to Kentucky to support her team, her clients, and her sport.
