Ozzie’s New Home

SquirrelWood Equine Sanctuary helps Horse Journal with some of its product trials. ?They are a non-profit horse rescue facility in New York (www.squirrelwoodequinesanctuaryinc.org). ?One of their biggest accomplishments is the number of horses they have literally snatched from the kill buyers at the New Holland auction.

We’re delighted to share with you this video of Ozzie, a big Belgian gelding they rescued in December 2008. ?Ozzie thrived at SquirrelWood and found a permanent home at the Fletcher Farm in Washington, N.H. It’s a fourth-generation family farm, and we’re thrilled to be able to share this video of Ozzie in his new home. ?As our Dr. Deb Eldredge said in one of her Horse Journal Veterinary Viewpoints, horses love to work and have a job, and this video clearly shows that Ozzie is a happy horse!
