HRTV To Air Prestigious Show Jumping From Saugerties, NY

October 25, 2011– HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will continue its blockbuster English Horse Sports Showcase programming slate when it presents highlights of the prestigious HITS Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix, from Saugerties, New York, on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

HRTV and HITS, Inc. previously announced a multi-year partnership to bring coverage of this and other select Grand Prix competition from the national HITS show series to broadcast television.

“We are proud to bring this highly-anticipated event to our viewers and believe this type of top quality equestrian competition is an excellent complement to our world class racing programming,” said Scott Daruty, President of HRTV. “Our relationship with the HITS organization means that we are well-positioned to bring our viewers additional high-caliber equestrian competitions in the future.”

The HITS 2011 season finale was conducted in the town of Saugerties, NY in September and featured the Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix along with the Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final, making it the richest day in show jumping history. HRTV’s Carolyn Conley was on-site to cover the big weekend for the network.

?This year?s Pfizer Million far exceeded even our own expectations,? said Tom Struzzieri, HITS President and CEO. ?The support for this event has grown tremendously over the past two years and having the opportunity to work with HRTV and A Good Show to film and produce this spectacular one-hour show has contributed to our efforts to bring this event to the next level. I am proud of the end product and believe that this event is a great example of what’s next for American show jumping.?

The high-profile event drew an impressive cast of equestrian stars, including two-time Olympic Gold medalist McLain Ward, and a host of accomplished international riders performing the most technical show jumping in the world.

Recently, HRTV announced an outstanding equestrian block of English Horse Sports programming throughout the fall season, which includes, in addition to this HITS show, weekly airing of highlights from the 2011 World Equestrian Festival from Aachen, Germany, as well as the prestigious 2011 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup Qualifier from this year?s Hampton Classic set in Bridgehampton, NY, conducted over Labor Day weekend.
