Largest Distance Riding Organizations Combine Conventions

January 13, 2012–On March 8-11, 2012 the largest gathering of the top long distance riding competitors in the nation and possibly the world will descend upon the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada, to recognize their 2011 champions.

The American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC), the 40 year old original endurance riding organization, and the North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC), the 51 year old original competitive trail riding organization, are combining their conventions to share AERC?s speaker program, trade show, tack swap and NATRC?s dance night.

Both organizations emphasize safety and the proper care of horses ridden over long distances. Speaker topics over two days range from enduring wisdom of the veteran riders to handling emergencies and understanding dehydration and horse heart rates.

One of the highlights of the NATRC awards banquet will be drawing of the winning raffle ticket by the owner of the Mountain Lodges of Peru. The winner will receive a Machu Picchu 7-Day Lodge-to-Lodge Horseback adventure in 2012.

The convention and raffle are open to anyone interested in, or wishes to learn about, competitive trail riding. For more information, go to www.natrc.org.
