Alltech Foots the Bill for WEG Budget Shortfall

The Lexington Herald-Leader is reporting that the budget for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games has been cut by $500,000 after lower than expected ticket sales, but the title sponsor is stepping in to fill financial gaps.

Organizers have skimped on decorations to save money. In the last few weeks, however, title sponsor Alltech has raised almost $1 million by selling memberships to the Commonwealth Club. According to the newspaper, the budget was partly based on the sale of an estimated 500,000 tickets for the games that run from Sept. 25 through Oct. 10. So far, 325,000 tickets have been sold.
