November 28, 2009 — Denny Chapman of Ocala Fla. (formerly of Lexington Ky.) won the Mounted Rifle Shooting Championship and Open Class Extreme Mounted Shooting Championship titles at the Florida State SASS Mounted Shooting Championships November 21 and 22. The event had 65 entries and was produced by the Florida Outlaws–the largest SASS Mounted Shooting club in the United States.

Chapman, a professional horse trainer, announcer and entertainer, has been involved in mounted shooting for over a decade.

“I’ve been shooting with the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association off and on since the late 1990s and with SASS since last year, and have built a business around the sport,” he said. “Florida is a hotspot for mounted shooting with events held every month. I give a lot of mounted shooting lessons down here and take in horses for mounted shooting training over the winter.”

Chapman is also the voice of the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association and host of Western Shooting Horse TV.
