Kelsey Thatcher Named Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month for October

Kelsey Thatcher of Bluffdale, Utah has been named the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month for October.

November 7, 2013–Kelsey Thatcher of Bluffdale, Utah has been named the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month for October.

Thatcher won the $15,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and earned the division Championship with Athena, and also took second place and Reserve Championship with Everything. Thatcher, who is trained by Alex and Maggie Jayne, was also named the horse show’s Leading Amateur-Owner Jumper Rider.

“I’m elated – I’m going to start crying!” said Thatcher, who won the Hall of Fame class without a jump-off after riding Athena to the only clear round out of the starting field of 26. “It doesn’t get any better that this!”

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series honors one rider each month as the Rider of the Month. The honor goes to the one rider who earns the most points on one horse in Series competition that month.

“We would like to congratulate Kelsey Thatcher on being our Rider of the Month for October,” said George Morris, President of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame. “We wish her continued success.”

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series hosts separate divisions for junior and amateur-owner riders in two Conferences-the East Conference and the West Conference.? Series standings are used to help determine junior and amateur-owner entries for the Alltech National Horse Show and Las Vegas National Horse Show.
