USEF Land Rover Competition Grant Recipient Matt Brown Ready for 2015 Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event CCI3*

May 6, 2015–The focus of the U.S. eventing scene will be on the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event, the final U.S. Selection Trial for the 2015 Pan American Games, this weekend as top American combinations descend upon the Horse Park of New Jersey. In three-star competition, a field of 23 lines up for the CCI3* division, with another 23 combinations compete in the CIC3*. The CCI2* will host 43 up-and-coming competitors, with a further 28 contesting the CIC2*. Amid the strong CCI3* field is California-based Matt Brown who has three chances for top honors, two of which are USEF Land Rover Competition Grant recipients Super Socks BCF and Happenstance.

In the second CCI3* of his career, Brown (Petaluma, Calif.) looks to capitalize on the valuable experience gained at The Dutta Corp Fair Hill International last year. After successful outings at Fresno Park and Galway Downs, he headed east and won the CIC3* at Fair Hill with Blossom Creek Foundation’s Super Socks BCF and earned fourth and 19th places with Mary McKee’s Happenstance and Blossom Creek Foundation’s BCF Belicoso, respectively. This weekend Super Socks BCF looks to improve upon his 21st placing at the Fair Hill CCI3* last fall, while Happenstance and BCF Belicoso make their CCI3* debut.

Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp (East Sussex, United Kingdom) with Deborah Halliday’s HHS Cooley, Julie Richards (Newnan, Ga.) with Asa Cooper’s Urlanmore Beauty, and Tamra Smith (Temecula, Calif.) with The Twizted Systers, LLC.’s Twizted Syster were also awarded USEF Land Rover Competition Grant for the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event but withdrew prior to the competition.
