The Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show will dedicate a night of performances to military veterans and soldiers. This year’s Grand National takes place October 9-16 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The special evening, Wednesday, Oct. 13, will feature a variety of entertaining Morgan show classes. Honorees and their families are invited to tour the horse show barns prior to the evening session, which will begin at 7 p.m. For more information, click here.

The Morgan horse is closely related to the United States’ military history, particularly in Vermont and its battles of the Civil War. In the fall of 2009, the American Morgan Horse Association adopted 340 members of Vermont’s National Guard 172nd squadron, which took the name Task Force Morgan when the soldiers deployed to Afghanistan.
